Click search. Type in the name where it says "Find a Friend"... OR go to your profile or a friend's profile who went to the same high school as you. On the profile, just click the name of the high school and it takes you right to the page to search your classmates.
Now if you want to find NEW friends, click Browse INSTEAD of search up at the top and you can click men or women, age, zip code, etc.
